Code of conduct

Our commitment

BSides CDMX is a community event. We are committed to making it a safe, respectful and inclusive space for everyone, regardless of experience level, gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, age, religion or nationality.

Expected behavior

• —Treat all people with respect and consideration.
• —Listen actively. Technical knowledge does not justify disrespect.
• —Be patient with those who are learning.
• —Credit others' work. Do not present someone else's work as your own.
• —Respect the venue's physical spaces, equipment and facilities.
• —Report problematic situations to the organizing team.

Unacceptable behavior

• —Harassment, intimidation or discrimination in any form.
• —Derogatory comments related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, disability or technical level.
• —Photographing or recording people without their explicit consent.
• —Unwanted physical contact.
• —Deliberate, persistent disruptions during talks or activities.
• —Publishing other people's private information without permission.
• —Conduct that would reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting.

Scope

This code applies in all event spaces: main hall, workshops, villages, CTF, sponsor area and networking spaces. It also applies in the community's digital channels, Discord and social media, when the context is the event.

Consequences

The organizing team has authority to take whatever measures it deems necessary in response to any violation of this code, including verbal warning, removal from the event without refund (the event is free), and in serious cases, reporting to the relevant authorities.
